CAM plant
This is an image taken of two pineapples. Pineapple is an example of a CAM plant. CAM plants choose when to remove carbon dioxide from the environment.CAM stands for Crassulacean Acid Metabolism. They gather carbon dioxide at nighttime when it is cooler and stores it until the daytime. It is then let loose and consumed for photosynthesis. Since pineapple follows the CAM photosynthesis, it allows them to open the pores located in their leaves during the nighttime and close them in the day.
