C3 plant
This is a picture of a Colorado spruce evergreen tree. Evergreen trees are examples of a C3 plant. C3 plants are very common and have the best performance at photosynthesis in wet and cooler climates but have disadvantages in hotter climate conditions. They use only the Calvin cycle for repairing carbon dioxide from the air. Evergreen trees use the Calvin cycle for photosynthesis but are more productive in their performance during colder weather than C4 or CAM plants.
